The Building Controls Industry Association (BCIA) has welcomed 10 new members to the organisation in the third and fourth quarters of 2023, taking the number of members to join in 2023 to more than 25 and the organisation’s total membership to 160. The joining companies are: A&E Controls, DR Controls, Neuron Controls, Synergy Design & Control, Choice Controls,Gondola Pro, Greenscape Systems Limited, BG Control Solutions, M & J Crutchfield Ltd t/a MC Controls and Synapsys Solutions Ltd.
The BCIA is the unified voice of the UK building controls industry and its members deliver the technology to create healthy buildings, through whole-life building and energy management solutions. This year saw the launch of the BCIA’s Corporate Plan, which was co-created in partnership with BCIA members, through working group meetings, focus groups and surveys. The Plan sets out the goals for the organisation in the next few years and how it will achieve its collective vision not only for the Association, but for the building controls industry and its members.
One of the prime benefits of BCIA membership is access to the Association’s Market Information Service (MIS), which provides unique data on the UK controls industry for BCIA members. The MIS reports are produced quarterly and provide a robust source of market intelligence and enable BCIA members to remain informed, prepared, and in a position to grow the building controls market. The 2023 Q3 update showed a 0.7 percent increase on the previous quarter for total industry revenues while the total BEMS market for the year to date stands at £625.9m.
The BCIA is engaged in ongoing work to raise the profile and understanding of controls and its annual awards offer members the chance to promote and celebrate the innovative projects, products and people that make up this dynamic growth sector. The 2024 awards are now open for members to enter, with 26th January 2024 as the deadline for entry.
Prakash Bhalsod, Head of Bureau & Controls at Gondola Pro, said: “We are a relatively young company but committed to helping to create a sustainable built environment. We are very proud to be joining the BCIA, an organisation which shares our vision and passion.”
Luke Brain, Director at Neuron Controls, said: “Although we’re a relatively new company, we hold a high level of engineering resource which we’re looking forward to utilise by working alongside the BCIA to help forge the new era of BMS.”
Fraser Eadie, Managing Director at A&E Controls, said: “As a business that has been operational for more than 30 years with responsibility for over 600 sites across the UK, standards, competence and high quality service is extremely important to us. We are very excited and encouraged by the work the BCIA is carrying out on behalf of the building controls industry and becoming a member was a natural step for us.”
BCIA Graeme Rees welcomed the new members, adding: “Our Corporate Plan launched this year shows that the BCIA has a very clear outlook on where the building controls industry fits into a sustainable built environment for the future. Only with the ongoing help of our growing membership can we deliver on our goals and I welcome our new members and look forward to working with them to drive our industry forward.”
