Over 2,500 exhibitors will gather at Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition (GILE), held from 9th – 12th June 2025, concurrently with Guangzhou Electrical Building Technology (GEBT). Celebrating 30 years of driving innovation, GILE has showcased the lighting industry’s evolution from its beginnings to today’s cutting-edge technology. This year, the show expands beyond its four-day format with the launch of “illuminnovation lab”, a year-round initiative with activities promoting new applications of light and shaping the future of the lighting industry worldwide.
As the lighting industry rapidly transforms, new technologies are unlocking opportunities for innovation. In light of these developments, GILE 2025 will focus on the theme “Light for Life” and will advocate two key concepts: “New-quality lighting” and “Light-enhanced living”.
“New-quality lighting” covers advanced manufacturing, novel services, and enhanced quality standards. The concept can be understood in three dimensions:
- Cutting-edge: Disruptive innovation and a transformative leap in quality
- Conscious: A focus on sustainability and health-conscious design
- Connected: Seamless integration of lighting systems with IoT for greater interconnectivity.
In the era of Light+, next-generation LED technology will become integrated with AIoT, human-centric design, eco-friendly practices, and full-spectrum lighting, transforming light into a tool for healthier, more sustainable, and higher-quality living.
“Light-enhanced living” redefines lighting as more than a tool for illumination. It proposes light as a multifunctional medium that improves quality of life and fosters emotional connections. By incorporating advanced technologies, light enhances spaces, improves mood, and fosters connections, enriching daily life through both functionality and emotional experiences.
Industry-leading brands are collaborating to seize new opportunities
With a new plan centred around four major Light + Lifestyles, GILE and GEBT 2025 will introduce a wide range of lighting applications and technologies. The two shows have so far attracted over 2,500 exhibitors, across 240,000 sqm of exhibition space:
